ABOUT SARAH

I am a fine art photographer with a passion for telling the stories of lives that are anything but ordinary. My work focuses primarily on portraits, weddings, and travel photography although I believe all moments deserved to be photographed. I see true importance in capturing every moment in our lives, big or small in a way that is luminous, genuine, and timeless. I believe that life is fleeting and moments disappear too quickly not to invest in photographs that can live on your coffee table or bookshelf to be pulled out at a moment’s notice. These are the ways that we remember our past, our history. These are the ways we share our lives with loved ones, with future generations.

As an introvert, I have found that one of my favorite pastimes is “people watching” as I enjoy being around people but also enjoy a quiet solitude of observing. Because of this, I have a keen eye for seeing the small gestures my clients do that make them unique and use that to better photograph them rather than coming to a shoot with a set of pre-determined poses. My background training as a dancer for a decade of my life as well as playing the piano and violin have helped me to better understand movement and storytelling, and has made me a precise perfectionist unwilling to give anything other than my best.

Over the past 5 years of business, I have had the privilege of having my work featured in several online publications such as Martha Stewart Weddings, Brides, Style Me Pretty and others, and I have had the honor of photographing notable people such as Gillian Murphy, Principle dancer for the American Ballet Theatre, Meaghan Hinkis, Soloist for the Royal Ballet, and Noelani Pantastico and Elizabeth Murphy, Principle dancers for the Pacific Northwest Ballet. Last year, I was honored to be asked to photograph and speak at the 2018 Belle Lumiere Film Photography Workshop in Snohomish, Washington.
